The Enabling Technology Navigator (ETN) Certification Course is a comprehensive, advanced training program designed for professionals who lead the person-centered planning process—such as case managers, service coordinators, and program coordinators. As systems shift toward Technology First approaches, ETNs play a critical role in ensuring that enabling technology is meaningfully integrated into service planning and used to support what truly matters to the person.
Through a combination of in-depth lessons, practical tools, case examples, and applied activities, this course prepares learners to:
Champion person-centered planning that includes enabling technology
Identify and align technology supports with a person’s goals, preferences, and routines
Navigate funding pathways and build strong documentation for technology requests
Collaborate with Enabling Technology Integration Specialists (ETIS), providers, and families
Oversee the effectiveness and sustainability of technology in real-world settings
Promote autonomy, informed choice, and continuous improvement
Learners will complete an Experiential Learning Project (ELP) that reinforces course concepts through real-world application. Upon successful completion of the coursework and final exam, learners will earn their ETN certification—demonstrating their expertise in advancing meaningful, person-driven use of enabling technology.
